I didn't know

I didn’t know that we had a full-grown Buddleia in the patch of rough ground between the terrace paddock and the track.

How did it get there? How long has it been growing? Why hadn’t I noticed it before?

And then I smiled.

I can’t know everything. And the butterflies have a fantastic feasting ground without disturbance from alpacas or people.

If we knew everything, we would be overwhelmed.

Instead, we can take delight in wonder and enjoy being part of something so much bigger than ourselves.

... it's not the best image of a Buddleia, but you get the picture...

Actually we know nothing of everything. At least close to nothing. However hard we try!

What a relief! Not to know everything. Truly. Just rest in that notion.
