I declare Brave Hour. You in?
What is Brave Hour?
Well, I realized a few years ago that it was easier for me to be brave if I had a community to be brave with. If I could link arms with a few friends, I could push through and work on those things I’d been putting off.
Fear always isolates you. It wants to put you on an island and make you think you’re alone. That’s why I like to say, “Fear fears community.”
But the world is really isolated right now. It’s not easy to have a community of bravery.
Enter Brave Hour.
The concept is simple. (And free.) You’re going to commit to doing 1-3 of the things you’ve been putting off. You’re going to put it on a Google Form I email you and then … we’re all going to do it together.
What should you pick? Choose something you can actually get done in 45 minutes to an hour. Don’t put down, “Write a book.” You won’t be able to accomplish that during Brave Hour. Instead, you should say, “Write 100 words” or “Research three self-publishing options.” Make your goal small and specific.
On Thursday night, June 17 from 7-8PM CT we’re going to jump on a private Crowdcast link. I’m going to give you a few minutes of encouragement and then you’re going to do the thing you picked for the next hour. It will be silent for about 45 minutes while we all hustle on our individual projects. At the end of the night, I’ll jump back on and we’ll celebrate what we all accomplished.
We might be separated physically, but there’s going to be hundreds of people on the same video, at the same time working on their goals. At the end of the hour, we’ll share what we did in the chat.
That book proposal you’re supposed to work on? Bring it to Brave Hour.
That walk around the neighborhood that you’ve been avoiding, do it during Brave Hour.
That attic that you can barely enter without cringing because it’s so out of control, declutter it a bit during Brave Hour.
We’re not meant to chase our dreams and pursue our goals alone.
So, I’m declaring Brave Hour.
I’ve done this before with thousands of people and each time was amazing. You’re going to be blown away by what you can get done during Brave Hour.

That quiet voice inside that got a little bit louder just reading about this is ready.
Let’s go be brave together.

3 年Love the concept. Can't join that day with you because it is my birthday. In it's place I will declare this. It is a milestone birthday. Five years ago I lost my twin brother and had a difficult time having birthdays without him. Inclusive was going to visit his grave. This year on June 17th, I will visit his grave and embrace our birthday together in spirit. I will also take back my birth date which I was so willing to give away when he passed on. That's my declaration to be brave for your brave hour.
