One of the worst things we can do is look back over our lives and realize we never actually lived our lives! When we leave this world, there is one significant thing on our graves that is often overlooked. We know our name will be on the grave. We know our birthdate and passing date will be visible. But what about the dash? We never really pay attention to this small piece of history that signifies so much more than it's given credit for. However, the truth is that (for many) it does not denote as much as it could or should.
When is the last time that YOU took time to live in the dash? In today's fast-paced world, it is easy to get caught up in the pursuit of future goals and overlook the significance of actually living and making memories in the present moment. But by embracing the present moment and celebrating milestones along the way, we can cultivate a sense of fulfillment that enhances our overall lives - without regrets.
Kool and the Gang sung it best: Celebrate good times, come on ! If we're honest, we just haven't done the best job at celebrating ourselves and all that we've been blessed to accomplish! We can talk about what we've done, but we often can't describe it because we're not familiar with it?
Are you familiar with the life you live? Are you familiar with the accomplishments you have made? Do you remember celebratory moments in your life that almost took your breath away, due to the sheer joy and excitement they brought? If not, we must change that.
In order to live the dash, you have to enhance your appreciation and gratitude. By consciously immersing ourselves in the here and now, we can cultivate a sense of gratitude for the simple joys and achievements we often take for granted. Those things that you do better, 1% daily, are still a HUGE deal.

When we live the dash, we also maintain balance and reduce stress - which ultimately helps us to live a longer life. Constantly fixating on future goals and achievements can create an imbalance, leading to heightened stress and diminished well-being. By embracing the present, we allow ourselves to find balance and enjoy the journey rather than solely focusing on the destination.
Living the dash also helps us build resilience and motivation. By recognizing and commemorating our achievements, we instill a sense of confidence and self-belief, bolstering our resilience to face future challenges. This also provides a sense of validation, affirming that our efforts are worthwhile, and encourages us to continue our pursuit for greater - making the most of every second that the dash represents.
As we accelerate in this month of June 2023 and prepare to crush our goals, Please recognize that embracing the present and celebrating milestones offers invaluable benefits. The greatest benefit is ensuring that the dash has value. Don't leave this world with a birthdate and a death date. Leave here with a dash that represents the length and width of a well-lived life.
