We have been hearing for last 70 years about the Top Leaders of India who have been responsible for Indian Freedom Movement & enabling all of us live in Free India. We need to take inspiration from them & keep them in remembrance always to value that our Independence was not that economical & would need significant efforts on our part to make the lives of other fellow Indians better.
Today one doesn't need to be a Freedom Fighter, Prime Minister, Chief Minister, CEO, etc to be an effectively empowered leader & add value to the Nation. Each one of us whether handling an organisation or being a common man in the society, is a leader having the capacity to Inspire, Influence & Impact the future of India.
We shouldn't just be the leaders who drive orders & instructions across the hierarchy of our organisations or be victims of situation but need to be the Chief Inspiration, Influence, Impact Officers in all our spaces. Lets look at these attributes individually.
- Being the Chief Inspiration Officer
One cannot be a great leader unless one doesn't inspire people around for Doing What Is Right! Leaders need to be the Chief Inspiration Officers wherever they go. They need to lighten up the lives of people in their professional & personal worlds. Remember, the best exercise for any leader is to lift the life of others. By being the Chief Inspirational Officer, a leader grows other leaders & takes them to places where they 'Ought to Be' rather than they 'Want to Be'. We need to Inspire the World around by chalking out paths for success for everyone around us.
2. Being the Chief Influence Officer
Leadership works on the mechanism of influence. If as a leader one is not able to influence the mindsets or actions of people, change would not happen. Leaders lead by mobilizing people around a compelling vision of the future, by inspiring them to follow in the leader's footsteps. They show people what's possible and motivate them to make those possibilities real. They energize and focus people in ways that fulfill their dreams, give them a sense of purpose, and leave them with a profound sense of accomplishment when the work is done. Leaders lead by modeling ways of thinking or acting and by encouraging new ways of looking at situations, and by doing so they give people the words and the courage to make those new ways their own. The best leaders accomplish the vast majority of their work through influence, not authority. We need to be the breed of leaders who keep on influencing the World to Dream Big, Chase Big & Live Big.
3. Being the Chief Impact Officer
Leaders need to be the Chief Impact Officers in any enterprise or situation. Unless they lead from the front & create an impact by walking the talk, change doesn't take place. Chief Impact Officers believe in execution rather than rendering lip talk. They believe in talking less & doing more. They believe in doing One Thing at a time rather than doing Multi Tasking. They pick the most important One Thing & Should Do Item in their schedules such that by doing it, every thing else becomes unnecessary. We need to get into the breed of leadership which creates a Domino Effect around in achieving Organisational Goals.
If we are able to bring the attributes: Inspire, Influence & Impact together & wear the hats of Chief Inspiration, Influence, Impact Officers in our daily lives, both our personal & professional spaces would see an enormous improvement in various goals being met & lives of many people around us being transformed. This Independence Day, lets make an attempt to Inspire, Influence & Impact India in our own little ways & make our country progress.
Happy Independence Day !
