If I Could Erase One Fitness Mistake, It Would Be This

I walked into the creditors' meeting with numb hands and pins and needles shooting up my arms.
I hadn’t slept. I hadn’t eaten. And I felt like I was watching my own life unravel from the outside.
I was £50,000 in debt, the business was gone, and the weight of failure crushed me so hard I could barely function.
But here’s what no one knew: the cracks had started long before that day.
And one of the biggest cracks? My health.
Building a business demands everything from you.
Time, energy, late nights, early mornings, stress levels through the roof.
I thought I was doing the right thing... grinding, sacrificing, putting myself last so I could build something great.
I skipped workouts.
I ate whatever was quick and convenient.
I told myself I’d “sort my health out later.”
By the time the business collapsed, I wasn’t financially and physically wrecked.
I was exhausted, overweight, mentally drained, and operating on fumes.
And I see this happen every single day with other business leaders.
They think they’re making small sacrifices to grow their company.
But those “small sacrifices” add up to something much bigger.
They add up to the guy who wakes up one day 30 lbs heavier, permanently tired, with zero energy for his business, his family, or himself.
The guy who looks in the mirror and barely recognises himself anymore.
Here’s what I wish someone had told me back then, more than a decade ago:
If you think you don’t have time for your health now, wait until you’re forced to make time for illness later.
Your energy IS your business.
Your confidence, your presence, your ability to lead...
ALL of it starts with how you take care of yourself.
That’s why I do what I do now.
Because I’ve been the guy on the edge of burnout.
And I've been the guy that took control of his health, lost 29 lbs in 16 weeks and rebuilt an even more successful business because of it.
So if you’re reading this, and you’re telling yourself the same lies I told myself...
Then take this as your wake-up call.
Decide that you are worth prioritizing.
Your business needs you at your best.
Your family needs you at your best.
And deep down, you need you at your best.
The question is: are you finally ready to become that guy?
Let’s make sure you never have to look back and wish you’d fixed this excuse sooner.
