I Choose To Be Great Today
Life isn’t easy. There’s plenty of uncertainty - especially right now! The one thing that you CAN count on is that things will change around you, probably to an extent beyond what you expect and beyond what you think you can handle.
If you would’ve asked me 3 years ago or even one year ago what was going to happen in 3 months, I’d have a plan laid out, but now, there’s no certainty even into next week.
Today though I have a choice. I can choose to be a victim; swallowed up by the time and tide… OR I can choose to be GREAT. The interesting thing about “great” is that most people think you either have it or you don’t like great hair, a great singing voice or a sense of style. “Great” is not a sense of style, it’s your whole persona. It’s knowing that no matter what happens tomorrow, next week, next month or next year, I choose to be great today. I CHOOSE to be GREAT today. I choose to be great today.
You can’t affect the people around you in a positive way if you have a negative attitude. You can’t make a difference for your family, friends, or business associates if you settle for mediocrity. So again I say I choose to be great today. By choosing to be great today I will set a plan, inspire and motivate others and lead by example. By choosing to be great today I will set in motion something amazing that I may not even see the fruit of for 10 years, but it will be awesome when it happens. By choosing to be great today I may stop someone else from having the worst day of their life. By choosing to be great today I may inspire someone around me to create something that will affect mankind for lifetimes to come because inspiration and motivation are contagious. By choosing to be great today I may help someone start a new business and secure their financial future, which will in turn help their family for generations.
I choose to be great today, because it IS a choice and the alternative sucks. I choose to be great because people love being around great people.
There are so many choices in life. Easy ones like what to wear or what to cook; and hard ones like putting a pet to sleep or letting go of a relationship. Every day we are faced with choices that will inherently affect our life and the lives of countless people that we interact with. Choose to be great today so that tomorrow you can look back and know that you didn’t trade a day of your life for something that wasn’t great. No matter what you have to do today, in the big picture it could be very small or it could be monumental, choose to be great.
Tell yourself, “I choose to be great today no matter what”. See what happens. Again, no matter what happens tomorrow, next week, next month or next year, I choose to be great today.
