I can't get heart disease; I'm vegan!

There are so many misconceptions about who can and can't experience cardiovascular events such as a heart attack and developing heart disease, such as it only happens to those over 65, sedentary and meat eaters.
Most vegans and vegetarians eat excessive amounts of processed fat in their diet and eating fats causes our bodies to manufacture excessive amounts of cholesterol. This is not only unnecessary since the body naturally produces what it needs, but it can also be very damaging to our cardiovascular system.
So those vegans who eat butter, milk, oil, cheese, ice cream, etc, develop coronary heart disease despite not eating meat proteins.
The build-up of stickiness (plaques) on our artery walls is caused by excessive fat/cholesterol manufacture and intake, eventually closing off the artery thus preventing blood flow to the heart and causing heart attacks and disease.
So yes, despite being vegan we are not immune to heart disease and seemingly eating a healthy diet filled with processed fats is very likely to lead us to an early grave!
