I Can't Do It

I Can't Do It

I Can't Do It.

Have you ever heard this from somebody else or even said it yourself?

There are many different reasons it is said, though mainly it is out of fear.

And I've noticed that it's sometimes used as some kind of safety blanket that stops people stepping out of their comfort zone and following their dreams.

The thing is that we all have the ability to do whatever we want, yes, even you, but usually we let fear control us.

You see when we're born, we don't know that we're not able to do things, we just do them.

When we see babies that are learning to crawl and walk, they've not been told they can't, so they just do it.

A good example of children learning to do something is if you ever go skiing.

On the slopes, you'll see little trains of young children skiing down the slopes in their ski school, following their instructors, going from one side of the piste to the other.

No one has told these children, they can't ski, so they do it.

Usually looking around and laughing and trying to go as fast as they can to keep up with their instructor or other children.

They do this because they don't know they can't ski.

They just do not fear it and just ski.

Even when they fall over, they just get up and continue on their great adventure.

So what changes?

Well, what happens is, as we get older, we're influenced and taught by others, we're told that we're not able to, or should not do certain things, usually because the person we're learning from does not know how to do it, or has a fear of it, even if they've never tried it, which they could have learned from somebody else too.

We also learn from our own experiences, which means that when we do something that doesn't go right, we see it as a failure, which again, we're taught to fear.

Instead, we should be looking at failure as learning opportunities that we can use to continually grow and evolve into the person that we want to be.

Back to why you can't do it.

You think you can't do something because you've been told you can't or had a bad experience that makes you feel like you can't.

Well, I can tell you that you can do anything if you're willing to try, yes, the important word is try, because if you don't try you will never succeed at it.

You never know, it might not be as bad as you've been led to believe.

Once you're able to get over the fear that you have and are willing to do something new or something that has not gone well before, you'll be able to conquer anything.

If you listen to those who are doing what you want to do and not those who tell you it can't be done, then you'll get the confidence to see it is possible, which means that you can do it too, by taking responsibility for yourself and control of your life, you'll be able to replace that 'I can't do it' to 'I can do anything'.

This chang in your mindset can have a huge impact on your life and the life of others around you, allowing you to live the limitless life that you desire and deserve.
