I can relate, but I'm going to try anyhow

Strategic Thinking & Optimism are my Superpowers
Jennifer O'Meara wrote an article for Metroland Media Group about her sloppy experience sewing a coronavirus mask and outlined the mistakes she made but also what she'd try differently next time.
I can relate, Jennifer. I'm a trial-and-error kind of sewer/seamstress - having never learned to read a pattern, but confident enough to tackle a design vision I had in my head. I've created the most simplistic 'couture' outfits I usually only wear to costume parties, hemmed the odd pair of pants, and whipped up an outfit or two for my daughter's dollies.
But the reality of COVID-19 and the increasing need to #flattenthecurve has prompted many to tackle making homemade masks and wearing them, while practicing social distancing.
What an overwhelming response countries across the globe have received in response to various gaps in products and services as a direct result of this unprecedented pandemic. Individuals, communities, entrepreneurs, organizations and businesses alike are stepping up to the plate and responding with innovative ideas and solutions.
Although I'm excited to tackle my own homemade COVID-19 mask project, to protect my family and I from community-based transmission when in public settings, even when practicing social distancing, sewing isn't my forte.
Rather, I'll continue to offer my skills and abilities as it relates to my forte in government and public relations. There's a lot of information and opportunity for individuals and organizations to either receive assistance from the government (financial, job creation, reducing red tape, etc.), to be innovative, pivot their strategic plans, and be sustainable.
If you’re looking for ways to better communicate your COVID-19 business innovations, need help developing an advocacy strategy in response to your business realities before, during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, or are looking for information on how to navigate government programs and incentives, my colleagues and I at Aurora Strategy Group can help.
In the meantime, stay smart, safe and sane in these unprecedented times. This too shall pass, and we'll be more resilient as a result.
