Do you know if you have the right profile to have your prospecting conversations successfully?

To be honest, in my experience there isnt a "type", I have seen top prospectors and sales people who are really friendly and caring and others, who quite frankly, arent!

The only common denominator is confidence in themselves, not in what they are selling, but in themselves.

What helps build that confidence - and it can be created if its not there btw - A script and a mentor to show you how to use it. Like with anything. A process, a system and an expert, someone who has already done it.

I guess the easiest example would be to give a sports one, is there any tennis player out there who has been number 1 in the world, no scrap that, who has made it even onto the ATP tour (top tennis players in the world tournaments) without a coach? Answer - NO!

I have to use tennis as an example since thats the sport I play!!

In all seriousness, business is no different, even before "business coaching" became a thing. Like minded people would get together to help each other create and optimise processes, create ideas, help each other in areas that they were able.
