I am demotivated

You cannot understand the extent of my demotivation. Today I went to KFC and ordered a Vegetable Zinger Burger. Can you imagine? Even the guy taking my order scanned me from top to bottom with an expression “such a looser” towards me. “Dude this is Kentucky Fried Chicken. If you had to eat veg, go and get lost in jungle” 

But why do we need motivation. Isn’t motivation overrated. Half of the You tube’s business comes from motivation. There are so many people who are earning their livelihoods by talking about motivation. If we translate even 10% Gyan that we receive in Watsapp, the world can be a much better place to live in. If we follow just half of the motivational messages that we share with others, we will be so motivated that we will stop sending such messages and waste our time. I recently heard a speech by a Toastmaster who was narrating the types of motivation, intrinsic and extrinsic and what can motivation do to any individual, why is it important and how can it change a life of a person. I was also listening to “Brain droppings" by George Carlin where he spoke a line or two about the need for not being motivated. I realized after hearing him that being demotivated is such a heavenly idea. Since then, I am motivated to be so demotivated that people are amazed at the extent of my demotivation. Demotivation is so liberating, so revolutionary and so motivating for me. Everyone in the world teaches you to be motivated and I am pretty sure that I am going to be the first individual to tell you to be demotivated. 

Let us understand what harm can motivation do to you. How is it so negative and so harmful for the mankind. There are some motivated people who have brought so much distress to the society. 

The first category is the Android developers. They are so motivated that they bring in a new version of android every six months. Do you ever realize how much stress this causes to the society especially to the younger generation. Imagine, you buy a handset of fifty of sixty thousand bucks and after six months you realize that it is out of date. By the time you make fresh budget and plan to change your handset, you are primitive as a newer version of android appears in the market. I will tell you one more secret, these android developers are sadists as they name their product after sweets so that we salivate every now and then. 

Second category of motivated mankind consists of those who listen to the motivated individuals or Tedex speeches and get ideas to be further motivated. They are so motivated that they do not waste time to understand or digest the new idea they have learned, they simply pass on the motivation to people who report to them and do not have any choice but to follow what they are being told to do. Yes, I am talking about Bosses. Now these bosses will go to some conference or some session, pick up an idea and pass it on to their subordinates to implement it. They would not understand how demotivated their assistants become when such motivated ideas are passed on to them. It is so stressful to be motivated rather pretend motivated in front of bosses. Imagine a liberating life a set of human beings live whose boss is demotivated. Their mental condition is so peaceful as Boss has his own set of issues to tackle, hence he does not harass his employees .

Third category of motivated species are parents. Who has not heard this statement from his parents, “Dekho Pados wale Sharma ji ka ladka, he is so brilliant and see your face in the mirror, even at your best of your moments, you do not have any energy, you don’t take drugs Na? Don’t you feel an urge to excel.” And what do I say “Maa, you don’t understand, the quest for excellence brings so much stress. To be motivated, I have to be constantly thinking, this causes so much stress. To succeed I will fail many times, and failure brings, depression which ultimately results in serious diseases like BP, diabetes etc. If you wish to see me healthy, allow demotivation to seep inside me. I will be so demotivated that I will not do anything which will causes pain to my body or mind, I will lead a healthy and long life. 

I can go on giving examples of motivated individuals who have harmed the society. The terrorists who are so motivated that they do not think twice before eliminating their fellow beings. The politicians who are so motivated for social service that they first try that on themselves and their families, by the time they can think of helping society, their terms is about to end. Take a case of a motivated bathroom singer who spreads his noise around the neighborhood. Some Presidents are so motivated these days that they think of buying an entire Island and are motivating others to buy Ireland. Well, this is some big motivation. 

Let us be demotivated. Imagine a demotivated society. It would be free of anxiety, stress, pains and aches. Even if we have one android version every five years, the society can save so much money. Healthcare services will flourish. Though the case studies for medical profession would decrease but I don’t mind. People will be so demotivated that they would not be in a hurry to go to their destination, just think of the reduction in the accidents. Car sales will reduce as no one would be in a hurry, everyone would use slow public transport. There would be no fights or wars as everyone would be so demotivated that even if someone raises voice or gets violent, the other person would be demotivated to retaliate. If he does not retaliate, the person who got motivated originally would become demotivated. Peace would prevail as everyone would be demotivated. 

I am so much motivated to think the kind of positive impact demotivation will have on mankind. I urge each and everyone to please get demotivated and contribute to the social causes and welfare of mankind. I am so demotivated that I am signing off even without a proper ending.
