"I am trying to find a good balance in marketing. I need to slow down a bit but I want to keep my pipeline full at the same time."

Question from a subscriber: "I am trying to find a good balance in marketing. I need to slow down a bit and focus on client experience and fine tune my processes but I want to keep my pipeline full at the same time."?

Even when you are not on fire with marketing, you should still keep pedaling the bike.

Commit 5-6 hours to "maintenance marketing" every month.

?

Take these actions TODAY:

  • Monthly newsletter: You should send your clients a newsletter each month. Intelligently answer the most perplexing question a client asked you that month in two paragraphs or less. Send a version to prospects, and also post to social media and your website. (2-3 hours a month)
  • Send out 10 LinkedIn messages or emails a week to new people you'd like to do business with, or Clients and Centers of Influence you'd like to go deeper with. (30 minutes a week)
  • Actively manage your pipeline so it's always alive. Each month, check on 20 people who inquired about your services in the past even waaaaaaaay back. Call them up and ask them if they are still interested and get the "imposters" off the list. Focus on the real prospects even if they aren't buying now. Be the one person who remembers people from their past. (2-3 hours a month).

You don't have to blaze.

Marketing is best when played a long game.

Commit 5-6 hours a month to:

  • Being disciplined about regularly getting new people to talk to,
  • Deepening existing relationships
  • Providing thoughtful answers to (highly relevant) questions your clients have and offering them to the world.

And - don't let people run you around. Spend time discerning who the important people are, and who the imposters are.
