I Am The Story

I write about the potential of Africans but it's funny how I don't write about myself. Today I am letting you in, in my world, my space, my head so, buckle up!

June has been a different month. I have stretched myself, that I can promise you. I have learnt a lot about myself, the importance of relationships, putting my best foot forward, taking up space, owning my awesomeness and much more.

A Gen Z is growing!

The month began with me accompanying my friend for the Madaraka Day celebrations in Embu county and now the month is ending with me in Marsabit County doing what I was created to do.

Today, I am living in purpose. My storytelling skills have been refined not just in writing but in photography, videography, and editing. My love for the community has deepen.

The humanitarian work is not just some chore to me, it is my why, my reason of getting up in the morning. It is my purpose and I love that I am part of the story, part of the solution and part of the community.

I am not wandering aimlessly on earth, neither am I doing the same in my socials, I am making impact even if I am doing it at a distance, it still counts, right?

Speaking of socials, my LinkedIn growth has been tremendous. Today I have 3000 followers and the engagements from my connections are amazing. Plus I learn a lot from them.

Someone once told me that I don't give myself much credit and I agree with him. For some reason, I didn't want to come off as 'Showy' so I deemed my light, a lot! "It's not a big deal," I'd say to shoot down the conversation. Relatable? Maybe!

Today I am not going through that route. I am celebrating how far I have come. I have been able to achieve things I wanted to achieve and it's not wrong to toot my own horn is it? I am allowed to do that even if it's just for a while right?

But the thing is, I don't want to do it just for a while. I want to do it frequently, because why not?
