I am so used to reading this demand daily that it has stopped making any news for me.

Daily in the news, there are calls for Recall of The Lt Governor. These are repeatedly coming from (almost) the same sources for a considerable period of time now. I am so used to reading this demand daily that it has stopped making any news for me.

?The reasons for Recall demands apparently stem from day to day happenings. Besides their own perspectives.

The media gets the news daily for its readership. Public memory is not always long. Besides the addition of new readership added daily.

While issues change, the duty of the office of the Lt Governor does not change as it is based on legal accountability, not political volatility.

The consistency of this approach is for the following reasons.

• The Lt Governor (it's a constitutional position. I happen to be in that for the present ) knows a Lieutenant Governor is here, for a limited tenure and for a purpose which is higher than the post.
• She remains accountable to the law as passed by the Parliament and rules approved by the President of India. And unless these are altered or amended formally the Lt. Governor whose recall is being demanded daily is bound by it. Hence it does not change.
• The Lt Governor’s office zealously has to guard the way public money is spent. It protects losses in processes to the extent possible. This too has remained constant. The focus has to be to provide for those most in need.
• It endeavors to choose the best of the better available public officers for responsibilities. It has no personal interest. It only has one constant interest which is service to the silent majority of the people.
• Last but not least Lt Governor has to live up to the trust reposed into the position by the President of India and the people of Puducherry.

Hence please feel assured.

While the reason for the recall of the Lt. Governor changes almost daily the office of the Lt Governor office shall remain constant and steadfast in its principles of administration.
