I am a small town girl, and will always be one!

No matter where I go, or what I do.

I used to see big dreams, in my little eyes.

Today, I am living some of them.

The road has been long and rough.

The journey has been tardy and tough.

It seems as if an era has slipped by, in a blink of one's eye.

I wonder what part of my soul I had to lend, on this voyage.

I dress up like a doll.

I behave as if I am on a roll.

I walk and speak slowly.

I smile; and I smile again.

I try to prove to them, I don't know what exactly.

I like running. I will keep running, indeed blindly.

Because stopping would require a confrontation, with self.

Oh, I have come so far. I don't really understand the language of self anymore.

I thought my self would adopt to my changed version with time.

But, poor self, it didn't!

It's not my mistake though.

I told you; I am too busy running.
