Dear Shawn,
Are thou alive? Sorry…are you okay? You haven’t written to me for a while now and I am beginning to assume the worst. Knowing we are both hiding from those who seek to kill us because of what we hold, I can only imagine the same thing we are dealing with here is the same thing you’re dealing with there.
Since my last letter to you, my brother and I have had to refortify our defenses here on this planet. I didn’t know exchanging messages with someone from outer space would trigger a set of events unlike what we’ve ever seen since our home was taken from us.
Two moons ago, they came again. But this time, Ha’kah was with them. He came with his own personal death squad, a total of 120 men (in your own counting system, that’s 100 men). The sun and moons were already asleep when they came, so it felt as if we had the darkness pressing in on us. The darkness seemed to have its own limbs, with the limbs clutching all manner of weapons.
The first to go was L’yashk, our father’s most trusted general and one of the three lords that left Murvio Prime with us after Ha’kah’s Great Takeover. The fall of L’yashk left a bitter taste in our mouths as he was one of the strongest people I’ve ever known. Reports have it that he wrestled with Ha’kah on his own and mortally wounded him. However, he was said to have been stabbed in the back by Ha’kah with his popular poisoned blade, the same one he used on his father.

My people value and hold honour in high esteem, which was why when Ha’kah was said to have groveled before L’yashk and surrendered, begging for forgiveness, L’yashk accorded him the forgiveness he asked for…but Ha’kah is a being without honour, and L’yashk paid the price. A few hours ago, the two remaining Lord Generals met with my brother and me to hold a Remembrance Service to honour the fallen lord. But I will forever blame myself for this death. For Ha’kah and his men of death followed the signal of my letter to you to this place, and a trusted ally has paid the price for my incompetence.
This letter is but a final piece to you to let you know you will not be hearing from me for a while. I know you’re well. The strength in your letters proves you are a man who has and will brave everything to survive. I wish to have your mind and resolve. Probably I would also be helpful to my brother and not just sit back doing nothing.
I also hope to see you… sometime, somewhere…but I know this would only be possible if our sun were to turn yellow.
Thank you, Shawn…bye for now.
