I am a refugee
I am a refugee
An ephemeral bee
Searching for my windswept hive.
The wicked and the beastly
Dreadfully, forcing me to flee.
Parting from everything I knew
Lamenting on my separation
To the cold shores of the sea
Mournfully, it consumed my faith.
My offspring crammed in a small boat
Gambling our fate,
Teary eyed I ventured afloat
Only to reach the seashore
As people’s scapegoat.
To be separated from my warm source
In such a forbidding course
Losing all I had--Finally to be reverted
To my windswept hive in remorse,
I failed to foresee.
Forlorn I drew back
Fastening my empty sack
Retreating for the mounts
Cast off by humankind’s spiteful belittling
I opted for the forbidden track
--Stripped of my humanity--
I paraded my loss
As a refugee.
