I Am My Own Worst Enemy

I Am My Own Worst Enemy

So many of us blame God or others for things that happen in our lives and we absolve ourselves of all responsibility. It's never our fault, we are always the victim.

When do we realize that we have control over our choices, our actions, our thoughts? When do we realize that people can't make us do things against our will. Even if someone was holding a gun to our head, we choose to comply or not.

Until we rid ourselves of this victim mentality, we will never be able to grow.

Until we stop blaming things that happen in our lives on others, things will continue to "happen" to us.

My recommendation is that we take the time to analyze every situation and think, what could I have done differently?

Could I have chosen not to trust someone that I know doesn't have my best interest at heart?

Could I have chosen to leave home earlier so I wouldn't have been late for my appointment?

Could I have been better prepared for my exam or my interview?

Could I have made better choices with my eating or could I exercise more?

Rarely do things just "happen" to us that we don't have control over.

Start accepting responsibility for your life and being intentional about your decisions and see how it will transform.

Great point. I have a big but. In all of this, it is my belief that we cannot totally control everything at any instantaneous moment in time. Circumstances do play a part in the transpiring and transformation of our lives. Sometimes persons are victims. Rape, murder, prejudice, slavery, incompetent leadership and such...issue is how do we handle these.. just my thoughts.

It’s easier for us to blame than take responsibility for our actions and life in general.
