I am My First Love
Chapter 4: The Gates of Eternity
Venkat Subramanian ? October 2024
As I moved forward, the air around me shimmered with warmth and purity, unlike anything I had ever felt. The silence was almost sacred, and the ground beneath my feet seemed to hum softly. In the distance, I could now see three towering gates, each radiating its own unique glow.
The Bronze Gate, dull but powerful, stood to my left. Its surface was etched with symbols of destruction and cycles of rebirth. The Silver Gate, delicate and luminous, lay in the centre, representing creation and the endless possibilities of life. But my eyes were drawn to the Golden Gate on the right. It sparkled with a divine glow, so radiant that I could hardly look at it directly. This was the gate that would lead me to Shesha, and ultimately, to the preservation of the banyan tree.
Remembering the banyan tree's soul's words, I approached the Golden Gate and whispered, "Om Namo Narayana." The gate trembled slightly, and with a deep, resonating sound, it slowly creaked open.
Behind the gate was a vast path lined with glowing stones, leading towards what seemed like an infinite horizon. At the end, I could see the faint shimmer of the ocean—the Ocean of Milk, the legendary realm where Lord Vishnu resided.

I took a deep breath, gathering my courage. This was no longer a simple walk in the park. I was about to enter a divine journey, one that would take me to the presence of the thousand-headed Sheshnaag and, possibly, Lord Vishnu himself.
As I stepped onto the path, the gate closed behind me with a finality that sent a shiver down my spine. There was no turning back now. I was in the realm of the gods.
