"I am the Incident" is back - and better than ever!

In 2004, ITSM Academy created an interactive exercise for one of our Foundation classes. We called it - i am the incident.

Sidenote, no idea why my original design saw the words in lower case...

I'm sure there is something to that unconscious decision...

One day maybe I will put some brain cells on it and think that through ??

Over the years as new syllabi were released there was so much theory required to pass examinations that there just wasn't classroom time left to deliver it. In 2019, we had to make the tough decision to retire this impactful (nay, beloved!) in-class learning experience.

When we received the syllabus for our newest course, ITSM Essentials, covering 10 core ITSM processes, their co-dependencies, and integrations from a practitioner’s point of view, we knew it was the perfect opportunity to bring back i am the incident!

When developing our materials, we wove this interactive learning experience throughout the class. The exercise uses a real-world scenario to reinforce the benefits of integrating processes such as Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Level Management. To our delight, we are once again seeing the ?? light bulbs ?? turn on and the 'Aha' moments occur.

Our learners leave the classroom understanding not only the what and why of IT service management and these essential processes, but also the how to adapt these processes to meet the needs of the modern workplace.

Since our inception, our motto has been ...educate & inspire and i am the incident brings our motto to life!

And now the most exciting news. We are hosting a "Game Night" on Thursday, June 8th 6pm and inviting friends, clients, and alumni to see this process integration game in action. Save your Seat

For many, it will be like reuniting with an old friend.

For others, it will be a chance to see the kind of interaction and practical, actionable guidance ITSM Academy strives to include in all of our training and certification classes.

For all, it will be a fun way to interact with peers and be reminded of the value of working together in a group to learn and improve.

The only Official ITSM industry-wide drinking game.

And I have a very strong suspicion that we will get to use our favorite hashtag #donnasaiddeming ????

We hope you can join us for this fun group learning experience.

#letsplay!
