I am having a change

I am having a change.

Having worked full time in education, both secondary and FE, for 14 years (save for a year working with the amazing team at Plus 24 Marketing), I am making the leap into self-employment. As many of you know, I am passionate about technology, training, Apprenticeships, design thinking, innovation, the future of education, social media, podcasting - loads of stuff. I have been working on the Edufuturists podcast for almost 3 years now with Dan & Steve (and will be continuing with this) but finding the time to do what I love and make a difference in the world is shrinking more and more.

Enter, Round Peg Square Hole.

Someone once said that I was a square peg in a round hole. I didn't fit in education (or more specifically into their view of how I should be in education). Safe to say, I was deeply offended. I shouldn't have been; it was perhaps the biggest compliment anyone could have paid me. I don't fit and nor should I. I know I am a bit of a maverick. A disruptor. A rogue, some might say. But I am embracing it. I will be a round peg in a square hole and challenge the corners of the status quo - not challenging for its own sake but to make a difference. Oh and just because I am a non-conformist, I thought Round Peg Square Hole was better than the vice-versa. I know.
