You people might be thinking what is this guy even saying. Right? Ok, let me explain

The word jugaad is not new to any Indian. Yes, it might be called differently in different languages but the meaning still remains the same across all language that is “Best utilization of available resources.” Companies now a days is striving to cut down their cost make the best use of available resources that may be there in work force or raw materials. They invest in technology to optimize things. I would rather suggest that instead of investing in technology and other things to get the best use of available resource you could just walk into a middle class or lower middle-class Indian household and experience the real proper utilization of available resources means.

In middle class or lower middle-class Indian household nothing goes waste. We think that there is only one purpose for a particular object. Then in that case we will find ourself wrong. Can the caps of powder cans be used for anything else?

We might say ‘No’ but its actual answer is ‘Yes’. The powder can top can be used as the protection to the legs of the sofa so that it wont damage the floor.

Does a mineral water bottle cut into two pieces serve any purpose?

I would say ‘Yes’. The upper part can be used as funnel and the lower part for keeping some items. When I went to Sabarimala years before I was having food at a small hotel in Pamba I observed that salt was not kept in those usual salt bottles but in the lower part of the mineral water bottle. Infact there is no object that goes out of a middle class or lower middle-class Indian household without multiple use. These are the best place to learn proper utilization of resources.

Having stayed in middle class family for the past 21 years my brain is tuned in thinking how can I use a particular thing multiple times in multiple ways. That’s why I declared that I am a graduate from Indian Institute of Jugaad
