I am a "Gold Digger"?

I am a "Gold Digger"

How about we redefine a word with such an incredible stigma attached to it for good.  I am a “gold digger”.

Actually, I am quite proud to say that I am one!

But you see my definition of a gold digger is a bit different. It is one who mines for the gold in every situation or obstacle despite how dark or impossible it may look. One who looks for the one golden nugget that can be taken from every event in our lives and even from every one of our setbacks.

Let’s be real. We ALL have collectively experienced a life interruption this year, if not several. A lot of our worlds have been turned upside down and thrown for a loop. Being half way through the year it is natural to look at our progress so far and question if we have done, been, or accomplished enough.

Let me ask you this instead. Have you found the gold yet in your current situation?

Today I learned about the difference between setbacks and comebacks from Elena Cardone.

According to research, when a powerful life interruption happens we tend to do one of three things: sit, settle, or cement. The last one is the scariest place to be as it means we do absolutely nothing and our situation or setback overcomes us completely and permanently.

Setbacks are unavoidable in life, but the difference becomes what we choose to do and what we choose to make with them. Do we hold on to them for years and years? Or do we decide to mine for gold and find the lesson to learn from it and use it to FUEL us. We have got to let go of any mistakes or wrongdoings that have happened this year and move forward.

Do we choose to stay in fear or use it as fuel? It is our choice.

The fear will always be there, but it is the courage to find the gold that will separate those from the rest. It’s time to get back up and mine.

Let’s redefine what a "gold digger" TRULY is. You in?
