TELLTALE -?A simple, safe and effective non-invasive interventional tool to treat coronary obstruction (CO) in TAVR or Valve in Valve procedures which received FDA “Breakthrough Status”??earlier this year. CO is a frequent complication of the procedure, with mortality rates exceeding 50%. There are currently no effective options for preventing or treating CO, which is why Transmural Systems developed the TELLTALE system, the first dedicated transcatheter guidewire system for electrosurgical modification of leaflets and valve tissue. The first US TELLTALE clinical trial is 80% enrolled and should complete enrollment later this year.

SESAME TRANSCATHETER MYOTOMY?–?SESAME is a “one and done” solution, avoiding open heart surgery and lifetime of expensive pharmacology. I am delighted to be back in the structural heart arena, where I started my career in the 1980’s. The formative decade I spent with Shiley heart valves was exhilarating as we grew to become the global heart valve market??leader. I was fortunate to learn from true heart valve pioneers including Don Shiley, Viking Bjork, Marion Ionescu, Denton Cooley and Bruce Fettel. The tacit knowledge I gained from Shiley instilled key core values including the desire to create tools to help physicians deliver demonstrative benefit to patient’s supported by meaningful clinical based evidence. This core principle has been the guiding force throughout my career.
