"I AM" Event Highlights and Empowering Moments

Over the weekend, an incredible event called "I AM" took place at the Ezel Hester Center, and it was a true celebration of community, conversation, and empowerment! The event brought together teens, police officers, and community leaders for an inspiring day filled with encouragement and positivity as the new school year approaches!

Two outstanding young men, Christopher Freeman and Spencer Butler, shared their experiences and stories, connecting deeply with the teens in attendance. Their relatable journeys left a profound impact, encouraging our teens to dream big and pursue their goals with passion!

Sonny St. Juste, the area supervisor for McDonald's in Boynton Beach, delivered an inspiring talk about job opportunities. He shared his own inspiring journey of starting at McDonald's at just 14 years old and working his way up to become the area supervisor. Sonny's message resonated with the teens, instilling in them the belief that hard work and determination can lead to great success!

Officer Tai, the Palm Beach County school board resource officer at Boynton Beach High School, also took the stage as one of the event's dynamic speakers. He provided valuable insights into what high schoolers can expect as they navigate their educational journey. Officer Tai's presence at the event was a testament to the strong bond between law enforcement and the local school community.

Behind the scenes, Sergeant Cannon with Boynton Beach Police Department worked tirelessly to put this event together. Her commitment to building bridges between the community and the police department is truly commendable! She has exciting plans for a series of community conversations, which promise to foster understanding and cooperation between all members of the community.

A big round of applause goes out to the generous businesses in Boynton Beach! Buds Chicken, in particular, sponsored a delicious lunch that was enjoyed by everyone present. The support and contributions from many of the business in Boynton Beach made the day even more special and highlighted the unity and togetherness within our community. Their generosity made this event even more special, with a variety of exciting giveaways and goodies for everyone to enjoy such as free haircuts from local barbershops, Nike gift cards, backpacks and many more.
