I AM .

Who/What are you though ?!

I AM ... that's the full sentence! Anything that'd follow would be an oversimplified label for the multi-facetted individuals we all truly live and breathe. It lies in the nature of the Information Age and its inherent complicity that we strive for easily digestible information. As such, stereotypes are not intrinsically evil they have been a convenient tool to organise and structure the world around us in rapidly changing environments throughout the entire evolution process of our species.

One thing that in contrast to high-tech innovation and a handful of economies hasn't increased exponentially is our human consciousness. This had inspired me to start up in the Edu-Tech Scene, which brings us back to the initial question ...

"Schubladendenken"

This German word that would loosely translate into "thinking in drawers" perfectly symbolises the implicit biases of the language being used within our thinking framework. I understand your desire to figuratively put me and fellow Earthians into drawers and not give us the depth we all deserve. If there'd be any answer as to who I am I'd say...

I AM BECOMING.

This is the only answer that is as true today as it will be five years from now. Let me try to wrap it up for you though as I appreciate the ephemeral human life span we have been gifted:

I AM an entrepreneur / Consultant / Drone-Pilot / e-Unicylcist / Polyglot / an uncountable amount of additional "drawers" you might have never ever heard of plus as of today officially streamable everywhere under my artist Pseudonym "Fresh Prince of Persia" also a Musician.

I've been contemplating on whether or not to follow this inner calling of mine for the past decade and in that regard also whether this is something I feel ready to become vulnerable and open about with you and the fellow +18000 beautiful souls on LinkedIn who bless me with amazing openness. Having read this far you know that today on another beautiful Christmas Day I am "Coming out" of the last drawer you might have been hoping I'd fit into by revealing this personal layer.

I recall many beautiful days and nights in Beijing where I had first presented this side of me collaborating with the most beautiful rooftop bars of China's capital. It has ever since felt like something I am incredibly proud of but wasn't able to share publicly as it wasn't the usual thing people do / say or post about here. Even though LinkedIn Storys have been discontinued I am still a big believer that there is not such a thing as a distinguished professional or personal self. To say the very least, it makes life much less complicated.

I wholeheartedly wish you some time between the years to reflect upon some personal "drawers" of yours. Ideally, it will encourage you to also live your true authentic self without worrying too much about whether or not it will fit other's perceptions and expectations of you. At the end of the day you'll be the only person able to define you with all facets of our shared human experience and the beauty of it is that you don't even have to!

As much as I refrain from putting a label on myself (including the most obvious ones being the brands we wear which I might cover in a future post) I refrain from labelling this newsletter ... I wouldn't even call it one if LinkedIn allowed that within their framework. At this point of my life at the tender age of 26,5 this might not become a monthly or regular thing at all. Otherwise, I'd have to add "author" to my list of labels ;-). What I do promise you though is that this will keep evolving as an authentic reflection of whoever I AM the next time writing.

If you wonder why I came up with my pseudonym: As an avid watcher of the "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" and child of that respective generation I combined it with "Persia" reflecting the second soul in my chest à la Goethe's Faust . My musical mission is to melodically explore my identity by bringing the 90’s R&B/Hip-Hop/Soul I grew up with into harmony with the oriental vibes and instruments of my Persian ancestors! My second song Hip-Han Dynasty will launch on New Year's Eve as the perfect soundtrack for your very best year ahead.
