I am eager to take the risk of being more authentic and innovative in my proposals

Ricardo Cavanagh

A few days ago, in the middle of the night, I found myself with somewhat surreal but clear thoughts that come from dreaming. I pondered the reasons for the tremendous success J.K. Rowling achieved with Harry Potter, leading me to question what I could do to undertake, awakening such enchantment and interest in others.

I was struck by how the author dared to soar without limits with her imagination, presenting us with a brilliant nonsense that completely captivated us. There are trains that pass through the wall of the station to enter a magical world where they experience countless experiences beyond all logic. It also offers perspectives that emotionally reflect us, as love, friendship, competition, teamwork, life, and death are present in Harry Potter.

And how are am I doing on my end? When will I dare to offer proposals that go beyond logic to evoke emotions? I feel immense gratitude for the starting point that is now. I have come this far with a vocation for doing, moving forward on some guiding premises such as making an effort, learning, building trust, and working as a team. I feel that they have allowed me to move freely in length and width purely by will and luck. However, today I am aware that if I want to make four triangles with three matches, venturing into length and width is not enough. To achieve it, I have to dare to imagine another dimension and put the matches upright, innovate, go beyond my initial logic.

How do I take the first step toward that goal? I think first and foremost is to stop beating myself up, silencing that inner voice that tells me it's never enough, lowering my unattainable standards that rigidify me and thus gain confidence to be more flexible, releasing my own emotions. For example, I can give myself credit for already trying to do something different by writing these lines that might move someone.

Perhaps I also need to let go of my motto of "always doing the right thing," where following it, every time will lead me into the predictable lanes of the indistinguishable median. If I let go, what appears to me is the power to change and unleash what truly moves me. Some years ago, I heard a phrase that impacted me: "real desire + absence of conflicts = realized desire." It urges me to act by offering authenticity in my proposals, from the depths of my being, facing my embarrassments, exposing myself emotionally to the possibility that others may not like what I offer. Today, I think the only thing I could regret is not trying.

Still, I feel committed to a one-way path. The use of reason and my experience as an economist and a man in the capital markets industry serve as a foundation on which I seek to take the leap by adding new dimensions. In my proposal as a consultant, these include a greater openness to emotion and perception, encouraging me to go beyond the fact that two plus two equals four. It also adds a lot to my own experience to be heard and to receive different views on how to work on my hurdles and doing the same with others, leveraging the tools provided by business coaching.

The fullest moments in my life and in connection with others, always come accompanied by emotions that exponentially surpass the connection provided by the exchange of pure logical reasons. I feel that I have a long way to go on this path, and helping others live it is a central part of my own learning. Despite our differences in character and circumstances, I feel that we are all more alike than we think in the territory of emotions.

With Pablo Jorge P. , we enthusiastically lead our business advisory firm?Integritas Team, with the vocation of awakening new actions in individuals and teams that lead to better results. What are the results of your projects, professional endeavors, economic goals, and business ventures that you would like to achieve? Do you feel that you are conveying emotion and authenticity in your life, or perhaps are you just trying to fit in? What conflicts do you feel are holding you back from pursuing a more fulfilling path with determination? Which emotions are propelling you forward or keeping you where you are?

We like to work with people in three main areas:

  1. With leaders who feel stuck, awakening new actions and results: Are you offering something that goes in length and width, and do you need to offer heights? We help you discuss new perspectives that help you break down barriers to overcome your limits. We combine our experiences in business coaching with our years of experience working in the financial and corporate worlds.
  2. With teams suffering from communication barriers, exercising full coordination: What does your team need to build trust, which is the glue of any relationship? We work with people who find it difficult to ask, offer, give their opinion, or actively listen to others. Our goal is to promote communication that encourages optimal coordination of shared efforts.
  3. With companies that feel they are not maximizing the possibilities offered by efficient financial management: What financial decision would give you new possibilities or reduce stress, providing greater peace of mind in your management? We work with companies helping them decide on working capital investment and the associated implications it exerts with clients and suppliers. We like to explore financing alternatives, assist in investment evaluations, and think strategically, overcoming immediacy.

If you feel that this note has stirred some emotion or thought that adds value and can do so with others, you help us by sharing.

We are thrilled to help you awaken new actions to achieve better results. Neither language, nor borders, nor presence or virtuality are barriers for us to work with you.

Great article, Ricardo I. Cavanagh I totally support your willingness to be more authentic and innovative in your proposals. Taking risks can lead to amazing results. I think many of us stick to what we consider to be "safe". The problem is that often makes us sound just like everyone else, the very opposite of what we want.
