I AM: AAPI Heritage Month

Meet Chou “Chase” Lor from our La Crosse, WI location - he's both a Driver and a Warehouse Associate, making him a true asset to our team. Chase brings a wealth of knowledge to his role. He's not only familiar with our product line, but also has a deep understanding of the delivery routes he tackles daily. 1.????? How long have you been in the distribution industry? I have been in this industry for two and a half years (1 year warehouse, and one ? years of truck driving).

2.????? What is your favorite part of your field of work? My favorite part of this job is being on the road and getting to know others during deliveries, while performing my job safely and efficiently.

3.????? What are you passionate about? I am passionate about driving trucks, making deliveries on time, and making connections with others – making them laugh and smile.

4.????? What career development has led to your current position? I was a truck driver before joining Imperial Dade, so this position seemed to be a great fit for me.

5.????? What does Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage month mean to you? AAPI Heritage month means to be proud of being who you are, standing up for what you represent, and spreading culture and love for others to see.

6.????? How has your heritage contributed to who you are today? My heritage has taught me to work smarter and more efficiently, to work easier not harder, and lastly if you cannot get it, work for it.

7.????? What are some traditions in your family that are important to you? The most important thing in the Hmong tradition is shamanism: Trust, family, and friendship.

8.????? What is something you wish others knew about your culture? We celebrate Hmong new year every year, where everyone is welcome to attend and participate, eat food, and play sports.

9.????? What do you like most about working at Imperial Dade? The thing I like most about working with Imperial Dade is the people. My coworkers are friendly, assist with tasks, and I also have a good relationship with our sales team. Our branch feels like a family, not just ‘coworkers.’

10.? What is your favorite thing to do outside of work? In my spare time, I enjoy camping, building cars, and going to the gym.

11.? What is one piece of advice you would share with your younger self? I would advise myself not to be afraid of something different or new, and to never stay comfortable.

12.? What attracted you to Imperial Dade as a company? I liked the friendly atmosphere and the work life balance of being able to show up, complete my work, and go home.
