(I was afraid Sir, I have never killed anyone till today, after seeing so many enemies, I was afraid)
In the recent movie “Kesari” when soldier Gurmukh singh accepts his weakness by saying above words, It triggered a thought in my mind to go little deeper and understand this behaviour as a foundation to build trust.
An honest confession about our shortcomings is difficult. It takes great deal of courage, honesty and integrity. Our insecurity will never allow us to accept our weaknesses openly.
In a cohesive team, team members accepts their mistakes without fear of rejection. This leads to a culture of trust, interdependence & open dialogues, where everyone supports each other to make a team successful. “It takes both sides to build a bridge” Fredrik Nael
So next time you find yourself vulnerable at work, find a guide or peer and express yourself over a cup of coffee or any suitable time in an informal manner..
Trust me, You will be able to build:
....a long lasting relationship...
…an image of trustworthy team member…and
..a cohesive productive team
