Hypnotherapy is a Psychedelic
As Psychedelics continue to grow in popularity, we need to continue to educate ourselves along the way.

Hypnotherapy is a Psychedelic

With more people talking about the use of psychedelics… it’s important we know the what, how and why…

?

Psychedelics have been used for millennia throughout the history of the human species. ?Terrance McKenna’s ‘Stoned Ape' theory hypothesises that because of the ability of psilocybin mushrooms to grow new neural pathways, and primates exploring new food types in Africa this triggered the growth of the neocortex.

No small conclusion.

These mushrooms are so powerful that a combination of both legal and mostly illegal mushroom supplements can create neurogenesis. They literally grow new nerve endings.

Which in itself is huge.

Supporting everything from Parkinson's and Alzheimer’s to helping prosthetic limbs connect directly to the nervous system. Massively positive for so many different reasons.

And yet this is only one of these naturally derived technologies.

Everything from the Amazonian brew of Ayahuasca, the Grandfather Cactus concoctions containing Mescaline, to the powerful roots of the Tabernanthe Iboga all the way through to milking the venom of Toads in the Mexican desert... and beyond.

There are hundreds and thousands of psychoactive plants out there, some in the wild and some in your local DIY house plant section right now. All without you realising.

All of these technologies, methodologies, and experiences have their own benefits many of which are still in the infancy of scientific exploration.

But like so many things like this; the benefits known to those that are more attuned to the ways of the world have known this for thousands of years. Science is just catching up.

Over the millennia we’ve gone through an evolution of consciousness which has involved a huge repression of these medicines from the witch trials in Europe to the attempted/completed genocides of first nations in South America by Conquistadors. And then fast forwarding to the last 120 years of accidentally finding LSD, using it for mental health research, then the ‘60’s counter-culture revolution through to using them to treat drug-resistant depression.

And still, its popularity grows.

Still, the research intensifies and expands.

Big pharma also exploring and trying to get in on the act, with huge farms in Jamaica already growing mushrooms for mainstream prescription.

The spores will always find a way.

And slowly their healing properties are coming back to help others, and more laws are being eased and shifted to help others help themselves… this is massive…

?

But at the same time, not all psychedelics are the same… Do your research.

?

What is the right medicine for me?

Each psychedelic has a different characteristic, different ways of interacting with the recipient, and different ways of helping, clearing refocusing the individual's thinking depending on what is being worked on and what the intention is for the experience.

Each one has a varying intensity, a varying duration and a varying way of being administered.

So tune into what the medicine does for people, and how each one helps in specific cases.

Ask yourself a few questions…

What are the reasons you’re doing it?

What do you want to achieve?

Where do you want to be as a result?

?

And trust what is coming up along the way.

Also, bear in mind what the law has to say?

Trust your instincts… Whilst also respecting the law and legislation.

Right now, most psychedelics are illegal in most countries.

So don’t break the law. Find the right place and time to do the work.

How reputable is the person holding the space?

Also, if you are attending a ceremony, do your due diligence on who’s holding the space.

Some so-called aficionados/ceremonial leader have their own ‘stuff’ going on.

Big egos with big ideas that have jeopardised participants. And in some cases resulting in sexual assault and death – not cool.

And yet there are so many amazing, fantastic, respectful and compassionate people out there holding incredible spaces all across the globe.

Due diligence is super vital.

?

Get support… preparation is the best integration.

Knowing how they interact, how it feels and what to expect is great, but also do your own preparation beforehand. Get a coach, find someone who is psychedelic literate, and get a guide that can support you through the experience before and after.

Sometimes these experiences can be a LOT… quite literally. So it’s good to have support around the work you’re doing to help unpick and unpack what was and help the pieces drop into the right places to support the onward growth.

Doses?

The other thing to know is… you don’t need to do big doses.

Many people using psychedelics ‘Microdose’. Taking sub-perceptual doses every few days for an extended period of time, stretching over weeks and months.

The Beckley Foundation found that microdosing LSD, increased creativity and problem-solving abilities. The researchers also saw improved idea creation and flexibility in thought. In one survey it was suggested that around 70% of Silicon Valley were microdosing.

Those microdosing with Psilocybin found that symptoms of overwhelm and overthinking subsided and life just got easier. Less stressful and smoother.

But still… we come back to legality.

?

No matter what or how you’re doing it. In the majority. You’ll be breaking the law.

?But this is where we can have some fun, legally.

Because Hypnotherapy (if done right) is a psychedelic.

The word ‘Psychedelic’ literally means ‘Mind Manifesting’

And when used in a certain way, letting the mind unfold much like walking through a lucid dream we can enable parts of our mind to reshuffle, to reorganise and recalibrate... just like it does on psilocybin mushrooms or Ayahuasca.

This is what our dreams allow us to do.

We access deep states and the visions of our deeper mind pour forth and we access altered states of reality, and possibly new dimensions of thought and some cases existence... So with hypnosis, we can take a moment to do this in a focused way.

To defrag the old-school hard drive, to get everything in order, to make things work in smoother ways and accessing parts of the mind we don’t normally use in order to create optimal outputs, and optimal outcomes.

To access flow states more easily, find solutions faster, innovate quicker… and yet many people simply don’t make full use of the power of their subconscious mind.

They’re too reliant on a ‘to-do’ list, or checklist to mitigate risk, they don’t give space for the subconscious mind to come forward with creative new ideas that could possibly bring about so much more.

Edison knew it.

Einstein knew it…

...all the great thinkers gave time and space to their imaginations, trusting and exploring their subconscious and letting new ideas bubble to the surface.

Hypnosis is a phenomenally powerful tool, one that nearly all people can use, yet few truly understand the potential that it holds.

?

We can rewire the thinking.

Reconcile the past… and also start to remap and predict the future.

Innovatively problem-solve and test-drive solutions in the subconscious mind and see how things will or will not work.

?

A lot can happen in 60-minutes… and you’ll still be safe to drive a car after
