The Hype around AI Finally Explained

Over the last few months, there has been an incredible amount of interest in new Artificial Intelligence based technologies, especially ChatGPT3 and other generative technologies. Here is a brief debunker & explainer of things you should know.

AI or Artificial Intelligence

A field of technology where specialised computers are fed a massive amount of data and then taught to provide a response through Algorithm's or programs. This response can be as simple as a recommendation to buy a new product on Amazon or to Like a friends post on Facebook or complex things such as Generative-AI.

Generative AI

SO when a specialised AI program is again fed with a ton of Data and then told (through algorithm's) to generate a response, such as a compositive image or to automatically edit a video or a sound, it becomes Generative AI.

So what is ChatGPT3 ?

ChatGPT3 is an AI powered platform/system/computer/website (name it what you want) that responds to questions it is asked. It responds with a text based output. ChatGPT3 relies on a massive amount of information it has been fed and now its able to find answers by cross comparison, co-creating and connecting the dots. .... and it does that in an intelligent way.

Generative AI & Images

Now this aspect of AI can also be used to create new images or photos. Lensa is one of the apps that has been in the news recently that generates really good images with AI technology.

Voice Generation & AI

When applied to audio and sound, AI can regenerate the voice of a person and match it to the original with very high accuracy. Microsoft's new VALL-E technology is doin this.

Generative AI & Video

Massively used in Hollywood, video generative AI will be widely used in the next few years. From a new remake of Indian Jones where Harrison Ford looks young again to other films we will see. If you are a user on TikTok or Instagram, you will see a lot of new filters that make you look younger.
