Hypatia Capital to train AI to promote women CEOs

Have you asked ChatGPT for a graphic of a CEO? It brings up a man. Have you asked it to surface one with long hair? It adds a man bun or some wavy locks. Let's face it, the large language models just do not have enough data of women CEOs to make them think it is part of normal language. This is just the AI version of pattern matching, as aptly described by Julia Boorstin in her book When Women Lead.

Hypatia Capital is changing that. In fact, we are using AI to promote the top-performing stock with a female CEO every day on our social media platforms: Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and X (formerly Twitter) - follow us on all of the links!

What can you do to contribute to AI promoting women CEOs? Repost. Like. Comment. Every time you see the post of that top-performing woman CEO, celebrate it. ChatGPT will soon start seeing it as normal. Change is in your hands.

The Challenge of Representation in AI

Large language models, like those developed by OpenAI, Google, and other tech giants, are trained on vast datasets pulled from the internet. These datasets reflect the biases and inequalities present in our society. Unfortunately, the underrepresentation of women in executive roles is one such bias. When the data fed into these models lacks diversity, the outputs inevitably mirror these shortcomings.

This lack of representation is not just an oversight; it's a critical issue that affects how we perceive leadership and success. If our AI tools continue to default to male images and narratives when we think of CEOs, we perpetuate a cycle of exclusion.

Hypatia Capital's Mission

Hypatia's mission is to break this cycle by using AI to amplify the presence and achievements of women leaders. By spotlighting top-performing stocks led by female CEOs, Hypatia aims to shift the narrative and create a new norm. This initiative leverages the power of social media to reach millions of users, reinforcing the visibility and impact of women in leadership roles.

The Future of AI and Representation

By taking these steps, we can help ensure that future iterations of AI models like ChatGPT have a more diverse and inclusive dataset to learn from. This not only improves the accuracy and fairness of AI outputs but also helps create a society where women leaders are seen as the norm, not the exception.

Change is Literally in your Fingertips

Every action you take contributes to a larger movement towards equality and representation. Let's work together to create an AI landscape that truly reflects the diversity and richness of our world.

Please join us in training AI on what leadership looks like.

Does anyone need more proof that bias is structurally embedded in our society than AI reflecting those biases?
