Hydrocarbon refrigerant and instalasi AC mobil (MAC)

1. Introduction.

AC units for cooling needs are also used in transportation facilities as a need to provide a comfortable atmosphere for the passengers, besides that in goods transportation cars that use AC units, of course, it is intended to maintain the temperature of the room where the goods are stored during the trip until they are sent to the destination for unloading . In general, the types and systems of AC machines used in transportation car facilities have the same cycle and the refrigerant used is also based on the temperature at which it is designed. However, the synthetic refrigerant material used in the installation of car air conditioning units used in land transportation facilities has the ability to act as an emission gas which has the ability to double heat, which is very high when compared to CO2 emission gas. So that the role of hydrocarbon refrigerants as an alternative material of choice which has been proven to have the ability to convert synthetic refrigerants in AC units in general can be applied to address the challenges of reducing gas emissions that cause an increase in earth's temperature from the synthetic refrigerant sector.

?2. Car AC installation (MAC).

In general, the installation of a car air conditioner has a vapor compression cycle, the components of which consist of a compressor, condenser, expansion valve, evaporator and are filled with refrigerant gas. This refrigerant gas circulates in a closed system and undergoes several process stages starting from compression, condensation, expansion, and evaporation. From these four cycles, the air that passes through the evaporator coil decreases in temperature until it is quite low. For car air conditioning systems, the comfort level of air temperature in the cabin for passengers is at a temperature of = 22C and RH = 60% for conditions in tropical countries. The synthetic refrigerant used in car air conditioning installations for passenger comfort is still played by R-134A. The policy that has been taken by developed countries is that R-134 A will be replaced by synthetic refrigerant type HFO1234yf in the installation of newly produced car air conditioning units. One of the properties possessed by this HFO1234yf synthetic refrigerant is that it is flammable, and this property is also shared by hydrocarbon refrigerants, it's just that the class groups of the flammable properties of these two refrigerant materials differ according to regulations. Meanwhile, for other countries, the use of synthetic refrigerant HFC R-134A is still permitted to be used and its distribution and use in the installation of car air conditioning units is still large.

3. Hydrocarbon refrigerant.

This type of refrigerant has been proven and used as a refrigerant in refrigeration system units before the synthetic refrigerants that are currently widely used were discovered or made. So that when there is a problem of the impact of climate change affecting humanity in the world, the existence of this synthetic refrigerant needs to be reviewed through gradual restrictions on use until finally it is banned for use. Synthetic refrigerant material is an emission gas which has a very large capacity to double heat compared to CO2 emission gas. What about hydrocarbon refrigerants? This refrigerant material is made from natural materials and includes environmentally friendly refrigerant materials with a level of ability to double heat that is smaller than CO2 emission gas. Of course, this hydrocarbon refrigerant material is one of the basic alternatives used to replace synthetic refrigerants, of course, through a conversion or retrofitting process. Several regulations that are technical in nature (not government regulations) regarding safety aspects when loading into car air conditioning units, and also when treating the use of hydrocarbon refrigerants are parts that many technicians have to pay attention to when working. Through our training program, technicians will obtain this information so that they have the ability to use hydrocarbon refrigerants in car air conditioning units.

?4. Retrofitting or conversion of hydrocarbon refrigerants in car air conditioning units.

Since the policy of eliminating CFC group synthetic refrigerants was put into effect, because this group of refrigerant materials has a very negative impact on the environment, academics and practitioners have looked again at natural hydrocarbon type refrigerants which are a member of other natural group refrigerants, to be reintroduced and used. as an alternative to replace synthetic refrigerants in AC engine units at that time. And one of the ways is how the hydrocarbon refrigerant in the car air conditioning unit can replace the CFC R-12 synthetic refrigerant. Likewise, the subsequent process with the development of how hydrocarbon refrigerants can replace the synthetic refrigerant HFC R-134. With the passage of time and developing models of technical documents related to risk assessment of car air conditioning installations and making basic guidelines as outlined in the SOP book, it really helps how this hydrocarbon refrigerant can be used in car air conditioning unit installations safely.

?5. Cover.

The number of cars in the world with various trademarks, which use air conditioning units for the purpose of passenger comfort and also keeping the products at room temperature while in transit will continue to grow according to the continuous processing time. Of course, the use of synthetic refrigerants is very large, and this is one of the potentials that will have a latent impact on environmental pollution, which in turn will also have an impact on humans, slowly but surely.
