Hydraulic Structures & Flood Control: A Case Study of the Red River, Vietnam (Part 2)
In our previous blog, we introduced the study area for this case study of the Red River. We also outlined the scenarios used to assess the effectiveness of hydraulic structures in the EEMS model during their operation. This blog will focus on discussing and evaluating the model results. For details on the study area and simulated scenarios, please refer to the first blog.
New Grid Generation Service
Creating Grids for EFDC projects can be challenging, and expensive. We’re excited to offer a specialized Grid Generation Service at a fixed price, designed to save you time and money while boosting your project’s profitability.
Our service delivers optimized grids, leading to more accurate results and faster simulation times.

On the Blog: Modeling Interaction Between Phytoplankton and Zooplankton in EEMS
Zooplankton population modeling was a significant new feature in the EFDC+ Explorer Modeling System version 10.3 release. Built as a sub-module of the Water Quality module, the new zooplankton feature is a first step toward modeling the effects of eutrophication on higher-level predators. ?In this blog post, we introduce a numerical simulation of hydrodynamics, temperature, and water quality in Lake Thonotosassa, Florida for the period January 07, 2012, through December 28, 2012. The goal is to demonstrate the capability of EFDC+ to reproduce the kinetics of the zooplankton population, which forms an essential link in the food web of the lake.
