In the year 1991, a 19-year-old Sandeep Agarwal started his career with a mission to provide customers with a quality shopping experience! Following his passion for business, while also pursuing his bachelor's in commerce, he had never anticipated that a small department store would one day become a large chain of supermarkets in South India.

Without formal training in how to run a business in the retail space, the first few years were plagued with hardships. Soon however with time, these hardships turned into learnings on how he could take Ratnadeep forward. A journey that he describes as exciting, challenging, humbling and rewarding! From a single store in Hyderabad to a network of quality, variety and freshness in 3 states, Ratnadeep’s 30-year legacy is defined by the learnings and evolution that has led to a stronghold in the retail space! Firmly believing in the power of learning and knowledge, Sandeep sir has also made sure to pass on his knowledge and invest in the learning of the next generation of Ratnadeep.

Sandeep Agarwal has personally led the successful expansion of Ratnadeep which now boasts a network of more than 130 stores in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. The maintenance of this network is handled by over 5000 trained employees who make sure that the quality, variety and freshness standards are always met. Of these 5000 employees, nearly 75% of them are women, owing to Ratnadeep’s commitment to empowering women through employment. He is also always on the lookout for groundbreaking technologies that can make the shopping experience of customers not just easier but also fundamentally better!
