Hybrid IT - The New Reality

The article describes on the challenges with the current options of hosting and how both pure public and private cloud have had significant challenges resulting in IT executives discontinuing or scaling back the usage. To mitigate the challenges Hybrid IT provides a good middle ground.

In order to design and manage effective Hybrid IT, one needs to consider the following:

• Operations - Need to adjust the focus of IT to service management and reskill employees on better analytical, managerial and risk management skills to evaluate/validate vendors.
• Controls - Implement right controls and audit process for vendors.
• Sourcing - Evolve an efficient vendor sourcing model.
