HVACR Instructor Resources
ESCO Institute-HVAC Excellence
Setting standards for the HVACR and building science industries.
As you embark on your teaching career, you will find that nothing can replace the live, face-to-face interactions you will have with your students and your fellow instructors. It is in the classroom that you will learn how your students learn and how you, as a teacher, will progress with each passing day. At ESCO, we have several resources to help you become a more effective instructor.?
Our HVACR Learning Network offers hundreds of books, videos, and courses. A section of the site is dedicated to teachers and provides access to valuable instructor resources. These resources will help you become a more effective instructor, develop a program advisory committee, effectively manage your classroom, and much, much more. ?
To ensure you are covering the basic knowledge and skills required for success in the field, download the HVAC Excellence competency and task list. This FREE resource identifies the core knowledge that should be included in most HVACR educational programs. By comparing the topics and content you are presently teaching with this list, you can easily identify areas that are adequately covered, as well as those that might need to be covered more thoroughly.?

With knowledge of your program’s core competencies, make certain you adopt a textbook that has been cross walked to them. Leading publishers have cross walked their content to the competency list, giving you a valuable tool that matches the basics required for success to the specific areas in the book where these specific tasks and competencies are covered. Look for the HVAC Excellence logo on the covers of these books or for a link on their websites. ?
To validate that a student has taken advantage of the training offered, and is prepared for employment, leading programs assess their students’ retained knowledge with our Employment Ready Certifications. These certifications provide third-party validation that your students have internalized the concepts and theories you have worked so hard to instill in them. ?
Of course, be sure to check out our weekly FREE webcast, which is open to anyone and everyone who is interested in learning more about our industry, and our annual National HVACR Education Conference. Rest assured; you are not alone. We are here to assist you as you navigate one of the most challenging, yet rewarding missions; the sharing of information with others. ?
