HVAC Refurbishment = Cost Effective

What can you do when you replace an air handler and discover the duct work in tough shape? Replacement? What if you had no access through out the building to do that?
What if the vertical trunk line is trapped inside a chase with more duct work and pipe racks surrounding it?
To demolish this 5 story vertical duct would require extensive interruption to the entire building. Our solution was to repel inside, clean and resurface the aging duct with a coating designed to lock down any residual particulate, create a smoother surface for air flow and improve the hygiene.
This particular plenum was sheet metal with 1" fiberglass liner installed inside, the liner was covered with a perforated steel mesh. The liner was adhered well and the mesh mostly intact - good candidate to resurface. The upper 6-10' is specked to to be replaced because of the visible damage.
Our choice of coating (paint) is antimicrobial, high build - very thick consistency and has very low VOC's. We have done this in hospitals, universities, labs, public buildings etc, anywhere in united states if needed.
This project was completed in 2 overnight shifts with minimal interruption to the building occupants.
