Hurry Up: It Is A Marathon But Speed Kills.
"Speed is the ultimate weapon in business. All else being equal, the fastest company in any market will win" - Garyvee
After 8 Years of content creation Ive almost heard every personal and professional development quote you can make in the industry. With that said, the speed of application of those quotes is what separates the people who make it and the people who dont.
In 2017 I quit my job and within two weeks I had a client paying me money for content.
Two things happen when I quit:
Now mind you for a year I had been trying to get a paid client and kept falling short. It was a mixture of trying to be everything for everyone.
Once I got my first client the only thing holding me back was my speed to make the next move.
The next step: UPGRADE MY EQUIPMENT
Most of us know our next move, but for some reason we think there has to be a struggle to get things done. No, majority of the time "WE" are the biggest hurdle to our success.
I was recently asked what I would do differently, aside from the "i wouldn't change anything" cliche answer, I said I would get a 3000-4000 loan and buy better equipment.
There was nothing holding me back other than understanding the relationship between time and speed. I spent many years with bad equipment cause I thought "this is the marathon" , "this is the grind".
IT WAS NOT.
I just needed to ask for what I needed and wanted. Nicky my teammate asked me around my bday, "Hey do you need a new computer?"
I said yes, and explained my editing struggles.
She said, "say less, send me the total and order it."
Within a month I have the computer I writing this article now. My time, money, and life changed forever.
