Hurricane Beryl: crisis impact profiles
On 1 July, Hurricane Beryl made landfall in Windward Island, the Caribbean, becoming the earliest Category 5 Atlantic Basin hurricane on record. Jamaica, Grenada, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) are among the countries most affected by Beryl. We examine the crisis impact through the profiles of these three countries. In all of them, priority needs include shelter, food assistance, livelihood support and WASH.
Myanmar: flooding in the north
From 29 June, heavy monsoon rainfall and fluvial flooding have affected over 26,000 people in the north of the country. The most extensive flooding has occurred in Kachin state. Homes, roads and farmland have been damaged and destroyed. There are significant access challenges.
