The Hurdles Of Proactive Threat Management
Insite Risk Management
Intelligent solutions to mitigate corporate risk, secure families and protect brands
A recent crisis resiliency survey of over 200 executives at large global companies revealed that a top concern is their firm’s ability to proactively identify physical threats.
When looking at known and emerging threats, the impact of civil unrest and natural / weather-related disasters were most worrisome. The study also notes that today’s dynamic risk landscape is heavily influenced by globalization and the proliferation of data.
Almost half (45%) of executives stated that inadequate threat monitoring and detection hindered their security operations and cited key obstacles as having the right technology and appropriately trained / skilled staff.
It is easy to deduce that while executives understand the value early threat detection and trusted analysis, they struggle with operationalizing a sustainable solution that delivers threat intelligence across their global footprint.
Standing-up a 24/7 threat monitoring function requires a budget commitment from facilities, IT and management that is a daunting task for individual companies. And even after a bona fide threat is identified, the question soon becomes “Are we prepared to respond?”
