HUNGRY PR #7

Pats Place – Not your average Thai restaurant in S?dermalm, so much better. Their lunch is affordable, 139Kr served Tuesday to Friday and feels like an authentic taste of Thailand.

Miyakodori – As close as you can come to an authentic Izakaya in Japan without getting on a plane. The Yakitori are delicious; don't miss out on the special skewers on the blackboard; you’ll get to try a piece of chicken you had never thought was delicious before, such Bonjiri, aka the Pope's nose.

M.O.A.S - Jiray Seropian ‘Meat on a Stick’ is one of the best kebabs in Stockholm, a consistent go-to spot for lunch or evening on S?der when I’m craving a perfect mouthful of meat, salad, sauce and bread.

Fantasy weekend meal.

Tartiflette, a crisp salad with garlic, lemon and olive oil dressing

Tartiflette.

Peel and then boil 1kg of waxy potatoes in salted water, drain and let them cool. Once cool enough to handle, cut into slices. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. In a frying pan, gently fry a sliced onion until soft and golden. Add 200g of bacon, grate two garlic cloves into the pan, and fry for a few minutes. Increase the heat, add 100ml of dry white wine, and bring to a boil. Turn down the heat, add 200ml of whipping cream and mix—season with salt and black pepper. Gently mix the potatoes and the cream sauce. Pour everything into a dish that looks great on the table and will survive the oven. Top with 200g Reblochon cheese (if you can’t get it, Taleggio or Gruyére is a non-authentic but tasty option). Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbling.

I've been meaning to try Pat's Place for ages. Your newsletter inspired me to plan a trip there next week for the dagens.
