Santa Salsa

The city's best arepas, now with its own place on Kungsholmen for culinary delights from south America. Savour the Arepa Pelua with pulled beef, cheddar cheese and green sauce. But don’t overlook their Quesillo, a Venezuelan flan that will take your taste buds on a blissful journey.

Aira

Take the 'Prix Fixe' lunch option on a weekday, call it a ’business meeting’, and prepare for an extraordinary gastronomic journey over the next 90 minutes. A relaxed ambience, beautiful building and impeccable service, this dining experience may just enthral you to the point where you'll be tempted to extend it into a leisurely, extra-long lunch.

With the arrival of winter, my cravings for a steaming bowl of ramen intensify, and I'm lucky to have this as my go-to ramen spot during office hours. The miso chilli ramen hits the spot on rainy autumn days. They also cater to late-night ramen seekers on Fridays and Saturdays at the S?dermalm restaurant.

Fantasy weekend meal:

Pickled wild cucumbers, Shakshouka, Blackberry compote with labneh, honey and olive oil.

Shakshouka (my non-traditional, in-authentic version)

In a large pan over a medium heat, fry two sliced red peppers in some ghee until they soften. Add a teaspoon of cumin seeds and three garlic cloves (sliced) and fry until the garlic begins to colour. A good squirt of tomato paste, a squirt of harissa and then a pinch of salt. In with a tin of whole tomatoes, give them a mash with a wooden spoon and let the sauce reduce a little, about 10 minutes. Taste, add salt and pepper. Make a dent in the sauce and break an egg into the dent. ‘Add three more eggs the same way, put the lid on and cook the eggs until the whites are set. I like to serve this with some finely chopped preserved lemon rind and coriander on top.
