Responding to the news of this week and before Monday pushes through another week for 2022, we would like to speak about humility, a behavioural quality linked to Leadership since ancient times.
There are many explanations of the term ‘Humility’ from a Chinese, Christian and Psychological perspective to name a few.
At Progress Through, we contextualize ‘Humility’ as the behaviour that acknowledges the fact the self-development is a continuous effort – who is perfect at any point in time? - and thus evaluating situations and people with strict criteria, considering oneself ‘superb’ might lead to the wrong conclusions and self-illusions.
The Belbin methodology is one of the methodologies we use for Recruitment, Team building and Professional Development and with this article, we would like to bring in just a few examples of how Humility might be a positive behaviour.
We hope you like our article. One can come up with a list of behaviours but we wanted to show that some behaviours are more difficult to adopt than others, based on our unique way we view our skills, our roles and what is right or wrong. ?
