Humbled with the Launch of 10x10x10

Humbled with the Launch of 10x10x10

Last Thursday, our first six customers had their filming day.

In our Mount Eden studio.

They were excited.

And nervous.

Good nervous, though.

Filming the ten stories or scripts they had written.

To inform, educate and entertain.

To build their personal brand on LinkedIn.

To showcase their thinking on their website.

It's called the 10x10x10 because after writing their 10 scripts and recording their 10 videos, just 10 days after their filming they'll get their 10 edited and packaged videos in both vertical & horizontal format.

But we did our first client in 3 days.

This is one of his 10 videos.

What do you think?

One Story A Week?

That’s what my friend said to me as we sat in a café in Takapuna plowing through eggs on toast on a chilly winter's day.?

“Write one story a week that showcases the problems you solve, John Maybury.?

You have a knack for engaging audiences with your story writing skills” he said.?

“Use the stories for your email list and for posts on socials”

He’s got a point”, I thought.?

Up until now, I’ve resisted the urge to write anecdotal stories, except for a few in early 2024 that I posted on Facebook.?

Those got lots of engagement.?

Then I got busy with work and stopped.?

The meeting had come about because we both have a mutual friend who we’ve both done coaching work with and he too writes stories for his email list and for his personal Facebook profile.

About business.?

And life.?

I turned to my friend in the café and asked him, “how many people do you have on your email list?”.?

300,000 was his reply.?

WTF.?

“I send a lot of emails and our customers love being kept informed. We send stories and they work really well”.?

I was staring at him with my mouth open still reeling at the big number he just mentioned.?

“Close your mouth, John.

But don’t call it a newsletter.?

Everyone calls it a newsletter and it’s not attractive to potential readers. Or future clients”.

Yes sir.?

300,000 reasons to not call it a newsletter.?

I went home after the meeting, mulling over in my creative brain the two things he mentioned.

300,000 and “stories work really well”.?

I started writing out names for my newsletter that related to what I solve for my clients.?

You can see that alliteration is a friend of mine.?

Sticky Stories

Speak Up Or Shut Up

Speak Like Your Life Depended On It

Nah.?

None of those.?

Then it struck me.?

I said it out loud.?

It’s creative.?

It captures attention.?

It brings a smile to my face.

It speaks to the power of storytelling.?

It enables me to introduce characterization.?

I hope you like it too?

One story a week.?

With an insight or invitation.?
