Proverbs 16:18 Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.

When we are young, we are invincible. We are everything from Superman to an astronaut. We are confident and full of life. This is a healthy confidence that drives us to be all we can be. When we get older and think we are 'all that and a bag of chips', above everyone, and 'too good' for others, we shift from confidence to cockiness and pride has seeped into our soul. Confidence is healthy; pride infects and spoils our opportunities, ruins relationships, and blinds us to pitfalls because we are living with an, 'It could never happen to me!' attitude. Then we fall... hard... and because of our attitude... nobody cares. If pride has infected you, there is a cure... Jesus. Identify the pride, ask for forgiveness and clarity on how to get rid of the pride and go forth with humble confidence. The world needs more humble confidence... it can use less, 'I'm all that!' Lose the pride, seek humble confidence and have a blessed day!
