The Humbert House

The Humbert House

When you walk into Humbert House, you are greeted by friendly staff with smiling faces. The atmosphere there is cozy with a classy twist, a historic home now repurposed for the restaurant's needs. There are remnants of history everywhere, and the décor helps enhance the overall feel. We started the night off with a few signature drinks, for me that was the Nightmare on Bourbon Street

. This drink contained bourbon, cinnamon, maple syrup, and lime juice. The drink itself was very smooth, with no burn to it. It was sweet, but not too sweet and the presentation was great. After a bit we placed our orders for starters, where I went with the Korean fried chicken. The sauce was savory and spicy, but not overwhelming, and the meat was both tender and juicy. There was plenty of it too.

For the main dish, I ordered the roasted rack of lamb with roasted potatoes, and parsnip puree. The meat was extremely tender, and cooked to perfection. The potatoes and parsnip puree were wonderful, and the combination of lemon and mint was amazing.

Sadly we left before we could get desserts, but if they were anything like the other foods we tried, it definitely would be worth getting. The staff were extremely friendly and the chef even came out to talk with us and answer any questions about the food we had. Overall I would give Humbert House a 5/5 rating, as the experience was the best I’ve ever had.
