Humans vs. AI: Keeping Up Without Burning Out

Humans vs. AI: Keeping Up Without Burning Out

AI isn’t just knocking on the door—it’s kicked it wide open. Look inside and you'll see employees and leaders scrambling to figure out what it means for their jobs, their teams, and their sanity.

Work has been accelerating for decades, but AI put nitro the tank. Eric Solomon, an ethical AI expert and founder of The Human OS, has a front-row seat to the chaos. He’s seen it across industries—C-suites rushing to integrate AI without a real strategy, employees stuck in a swirl of fear and confusion, and middle managers caught in the crossfire.

“The fundamental tension is this: leaders are being told to ‘figure out AI’ fast, while employees fear for their jobs. No one knows the next move,” Eric says.

Here’s the truth: AI isn’t just about efficiency. It’s about redefining work itself. And if we don’t approach it?strategically, we’re setting ourselves up for burnout.

A Smarter Way Forward

Instead of bolting AI onto existing workflows and hoping for the best, Eric suggests companies take a step back and define their approach. Enter the framework he calls The Three Cs:

  1. Cause:?What do we actually?want?AI to do for our company?
  2. Commitments:?What boundaries will we set to ensure it supports, not replaces, our people?
  3. Communication:?How do we bring employees along for the ride instead of leaving them in the dark?

Most companies skip straight to implementation. But without clear guardrails, AI becomes a stress multiplier instead of a strategic asset.

For Employees: Get Hands-On, Now

If you’re worried about AI making your role obsolete, the best move is simple: stop guessing, start experimenting.

“Roll up your sleeves and play with it,” Eric advises. “Give it real problems from your work and see what happens. The only way to keep up is to understand it firsthand.”

Waiting to be told how to use AI? Bad idea. Companies are still figuring it out, and the ones who?already know?how to work with AI will have a serious advantage.

AI at Work: Adapt or Burn Out

We’re at an inflection point. AI can either be a tool that makes work more human—or a force that drives us into the ground. The difference? How we choose to integrate it. And that starts with leaders who communicate, companies that set clear AI strategies, and employees who take charge of their own learning.

Because one thing’s for sure: AI isn’t slowing down. The question is, will your team keep up?
