Rakhi Sharma (General Manager- Program Delivery)

The Team of Turacoz is a special one. Not because it is one of the best in expertise and experience, but also for the journeys they have made to reach where they are today. We indulged in an intimate conversation with our team and bring forth their thoughts, views, and messages. Rakhi Sharma holds an extremely critical position in Turacoz as the General Manager, Program Delivery, shouldering the responsibilities of ensuring seamless project deliveries, client satisfaction, revenue generation, team well-being and much more. A rendezvous with Rakhi today gives us a sneak peek into her journey.

1. Would you like to share a turning point or any story of your life which helped you in deciding your career?

This instance or would say mishap helped me in deciding my career. My mom’s health was always a worry for our family as she was suffering from a heart condition since our childhood. I pursued management in marketing for the prime reason to become a successful brand manager. But this demanded the precious moments of care for my mother, so I decided to be with her and work in sales. In 2005 when my mom passed away, this incidence pulled me towards my dream career, and I reached the city of dreams, Mumbai. This was a turning point in my life as the irreparable loss taught me a lesson to achieve something in my life which my mom always dreamt for me.?

2. As a program delivery head, you are both a face for clients as well as for the team. Has this offered you any challenges? Share with us your experience of walking this thin line.

Being a delivery head is always a two-faced thing. This placement has obviously been challenging by landing me in some hot spots. It’s tough being a humble but strict team leader and a professional but cogent front office. My placement requires me to not only have a work-life balance but also team-client faces. In my honest opinion, taking the heat is just the flaw and the beauty of it.

3. What are the skills required for program delivery?

The essential skills for program delivery are:

·????????Time management

·????????Effective communication

·????????Risk management

·????????Critical thinking and problem solving

·????????Technical expertise

4. How do you handle a drop in motivation in your team or one employee?

First, I need to diagnose the reason of drop in motivation and resolve the same. In addition to this we need to acknowledge the team’s work, offer training for career progression, understand my team, help them strive for their goals, offer flexibility but ensuring task completion and excellence. These actions would keep an employee’s motivation high pushing them to reach for their highest potential.

5. How will you describe your day with Turacoz?

My day at Turacoz starts with my plan for the day and then stand-up meeting with my team to understand and align their tasks for the day. Most important, whatever daily work or tasks I do, I always keep the target objective as to scale the profitability and ROI for Turacoz.

6. What are the other passions or activities you engage yourself in?

It’s always been my passion to sing, just seamlessly and endlessly sing. Music has seen me through my college days too! passing through my medicinal chemistry with my little Walkman sending smooth melodies in my ears as my brain digested those giants of formulae. I can always imagine myself a singer, maybe not Alka Yagnik, but a bathroom star of course.

7. Every woman is constantly a working one, be it a homemaker or an office professional. But as a full-time professional with a kid, how would you describe your life structure?

As a full-time professional with two kids, my life structure resembles a 24x7 pharmacy. You must be on your toes day and night. Like I plan my work as a professional, I must have a complete plan for the week for the kids including their studies, food, physical activities, maintaining hygiene, pursuing their hobbies etc the list goes on. I enjoy striking a balance of my profession and my kids. I miss both equally if I am not working or kids are not at home.

8. Which one word or phrase resonates when I say these to you?

a.??????Healthcare – My field of interest

b.??????Client satisfaction – My GOAL

c.??????A Monday – Should come monthly once

d.??????Team picnic – Adrenaline rush

e.??????Women can never have it all – A MYTH
