#Humans

It was a big day Wednesday when we hosted #rebound ... 7 online sessions focusing in on how to get ready for the other side of all this COVID 'stuff'.

By far the biggest takeaway across all sessions was the importance of, and the need to focus on, the humans.

Whether the humans being referred to were your team, your customers or your advisers, the theme was consistent.

Session 1: Are you change ready?

With the change you have already been through only the start of the change ahead for your business, the expert panellists emphasised the importance of trust and transparency to be 'change ready' and to empower your team for the next normal [whatever that looks like].

Session 2: Protecting + Strengthening your brand

Never before have we seen so much about the humans behind a business. Building trust through authenticity and ‘less polished’ live marketing, the panellists can only see the need for more personalised and targeted marketing going forward.

Session 3: The Modern Tech Stack

Some businesses have bought forward tech changes months [if not years] ahead of original plans. In this session, they warned leaders that they do not see this slowing down and to watch out for team ‘app fatigue’ while still highlighting how critical it is to involve the team in the process so energy is targeted at the best opportunities for improvement.

Session 4: Show me the money

Knowing your numbers remains essential for any business during these uncharted times but the panellists in this still also emphasised that relationships are key to making sure you have the room to protect and strengthen your financial position.

Session 5: How we work

With how we work and where we physically work probably having changed now forever, in this session the panellists highlight the need for leaders to trust that your team will do the right thing and give them permission to find what works best for them.

Session 6: How to actually get stuff done

Most plans fail at the implementation stage so this discussion was important to make sure business managers, owners and leaders actually did something to make the most of the opportunities ahead. There is no chance of a successful implementation if you don’t take the team on the journey with you, but it is important to break down your plans into smaller chunks so you and your team are focused with clear priorities.

Session 7: Bringing it all together

The final session was our wrap up session where we discussed our key takeaways from all the sessions from the day. You can replay this full discussion below.

Keep an eye out for the release of the recordings of all sessions at www.businessdepot.com.au/rebound.
